Beliefs: President Hoover belived in a limited role of government and feared that if the government got to involved with the people then it would interfere with individualism and capitalism. When it came to business', Hoover believed in Laissez Faire. This was the idea that the government should leave business' alone and not interfere with them. When it came to the people, he believed in rugged individualism which was the idea that people should succeed and take care of themselves/ their families on their own instead of depending on the government to help them out. Hoover did not want to provide relief for struggling during the Great Depression because he thought it would bring "subsidy seekers" looking for aid.
